Angel Choir PJ Party

This past Sunday night was our Preschool and Children's Choirs' Spring Performance at church. The preschoolers had a PJ Party-as we learned from their songs, PJ means "Prayers for Jesus". Carter and Jackson thought that it was neat to wear their PJ's to church! Mommy and Daddy were excited that they were already ready for bed once we got home! They both did a great job-Carter at singing the songs and Jackson at entertaining the congregation with questions like "Are we done now?", and "Is this the last song?". It was too cute! This was Jackson's first time performing in church so it made their performance even more special, even though we were exhausted from Carter's Cowboy Party! Our Tawny, Scrawny Lion

O.K.-so there's nothing scrawny about our little lion, but it made for a cute title anyways! Last Friday Carter's class had a Circus Day at school. At first Carter said that he was not going to dress up, but after some coaxing, he decided that he would wear a lion costume that Ross wore one year for Halloween. I have to say that he made a really cute lion!

Carter stops just long enough for me to snap a picture before heading off to the circus, I mean school, with Daddy. Sorry the picture is a little blurry but my camera was on the wrong setting at the time!

The circus parade begins! Again, I know that the picture is blurry but it wasn't until after I took this picture that I realized that my camera was on the wrong setting!

Peace and Quiet...At least for a Moment

Please excuse the blurriness of this picture but I took it with my camera phone while we were stopped at a red light-real safe, I know! I had to capture this moment, though! I believe that this was the first time that all three of my boys had napped at the same time! Carter and Jackson no longer take naps, so there is never any quiet time for me unless it's bed time. I had noticed that it had gotten quiet in the van all of a sudden and when I glanced back at them from the rear-view mirror, this is what I saw. How precious are they? I am glad that I took this picture when I did-not long after I snapped it, Jackson woke up.

Wile E. Coyote

What a shock to us...we had just finished eating lunch and were cleaning up the the table when Todd said that there was a coyote in our back yard. I told him that he must be mistaken, but sure enough, I looked out the window and saw a coyote wondering around our play set. Before I could say another word, Elmer Fudd, I mean Todd, had gone upstairs and had come back down with his shot gun in hand! He went outside and, from a pretty good distance away, killed the coyote with one shot. Needless to say, Todd was very proud of himself! He joked about having the thing stuffed but I quickly said no! Here are some pictures of Todd with his "prize" just before he went and disposed of it! I guess that he can give up deer hunting for coyote hunting! We are so proud of our sharp shooter!

On a side note, I had first thought that I wouldn't mention the whole coyote thing to the boys but then decided that I needed to take this opportunity to talk to them about the dangers of wild animals and especially at how, even though coyotes look so much like dogs, they really aren't and can be very harmful to us. I was really directing all of this at Jackson-he absolutely loves animals and I was fearful of the possibility of him seeing another coyote in our yard and going up to pet it! After my little speech I told them that we should be thankful that daddy was here to kill it. Carter looks up at the sky and, without batting an eye, holds his hands up and says "Thank You, Jesus". It was too cute! I couldn't help but giggle a little at how he said it!

Spring Break at Six Flags

Last week, some of my girlfriends and I decided to take our little ones to Six Flags. We really lucked up and went on a day that was wonderful-not too crowded, not too hot-it was great! My boys really surprised me and loved most all of the rides, especially the Mine Train! My boys were a little upset at the fact that the Thomas the Tank Engine ride was not open yet but, since they loved it so much, I decided to upgrade our tickets to Season Passes and will be taking them back very soon. Up, Up and Away

Last week Carter's class had a Kite Day. Todd and I went to the school at 11:00 to participate in Kite Day with him. Since we didn't have a kite, I went to Wal-Mart and purchased several for Carter to choose from. He decided that he wanted to take the Buzz Lightyear kite with him to school. I thought that this was a great choice as the Buzz Lightyear kite was inflatable and I just knew that it would fly well! The other kites that I bought were just "normal" kites that everyone would have! Well, Mommy made a small mistake in not taking the other kites with her to Kite Day and, of course, Carter's kite did not want to fly. As it turns out, the inflatable kites are not the way to go! I was frustrated at myself and upset for Carter that his kite was the only one that didn't fly. He really did well and didn't get upset about it though. Instead he ran around and helped the other boys and girls get their kites off the ground. One little boy in Carter's class realized that Carter's kite wouldn't fly and he came over and asked Carter if he would like to fly his kite for a little while. I was so touched by his kindness as it is hard to share something like a kite at the young age of 4. Carter and Raque took turns flying Raque's Spiderman kite and they had a blast!
