School Days

It is hard to believe that summer is coming to an end and that school has started back! This year, all three boys are going to school. Carter goes to Young Americans Christian School three days a week and is in K-4-he will tell you that he is NOT in Pre-K, but in K-4. He hasn't grasped the fact that they are one in the same! He only goes until 12:15, so it's not a full day for him. Jackson and Cooper are going to the Children's Ministry Center at our church. They both go on Mondays and Wednesdays until 1:00, which allows me time to get Carter from school and head down to pick them up. Jackson is in the Older Two's class and Cooper is in the Babies class. It is so weird not to have a child at home. This is the first time that I have never had at least one of them at home with me. It does make running errands a whole lot easier, though! Here are some pictures from their first day at school!

Here is a picture of Carter and his daddy before school!

This is a picture of Carter and some of his classmates with his teacher's assistant, Mrs. Trina. They are anxiously awaiting the start of their day!

Jackson cannot quite decide if he wants to go to school or not!

Jackson loves his bookbag and lunchbox-it's very fitting for him as he is a little monkey!

Jackson and his friend, Harrison play dinosaurs to begin their day!

Cooper and Daddy wait to go into school for his very first day!

Cooper and his teacher, Mrs. Sherri!

The Lazy Days of Summer

The "Lazy Days of Summer" were filled with a lot of fun for us! While we didn't go on any vacations this summer, we had a great time swimming in Mimi and Didi's pool, playing outside, and getting into all sorts of mischief! This summer was also filled with more "firsts" for Cooper. Here are some of our favorite pictures from the summer! We hope you enjoy them!

Here's a picture of Carter hamming it up for the camera!

Here's a picture of Jackson playing in the dirt! I love this picture-if you look close enough, you will see the dirt around his mouth and on his feet! Such a typical little boy!

Here's Jackson flashing me his smile!

Here's Cooper in his Bumbo seat! He used to love sitting in it, but not so much any more-he is getting to be too big of a boy for it!

This is a picture of Cooper sitting in his "big boy" carseat for the first time! He loves this seat much more than his infant seat! He actually has some room to move around in this one!

Cooper LOVES his swing-it's not unusual for us to find him fast asleep in it. On this particular day, though, he looks to be hiding from the camera!

He also loves his Jumparoo and usually jumps himself to sleep in it-it's hard work being a baby!

Here is a picture of Todd's grandmother (Mamaw) seeing Cooper for the first time! They entertained each other so much that weekend!

This is a picture of Jackson riding Carter's Spiderman bike! He loves to do anything that Carter does!

Here is a picture of Todd and his "little men" that was taken on his birthday!

In this picture, Cooper is getting his first taste of cake! He loved it and cried for more!!

Cooper's Eye Surgery

Cooper had eye surgery on July 31st to correct his "lazy eyes". The surgery was very successful and the optometrist is very happy with the results. He did explain to us that he may have to have subsequent surgeries to totally correct the problem, though. We can tell a huge difference in Cooper's development and his awareness of his surroundings since the surgery. He is exploring things in detail and really notices "little things" more. We are so proud of him! He was such a "big boy" for the surgery and did remarkably well! Here are some pictures of his day!

One last picture before his surgery

Here he is getting dressed in his beautiful hospital attire!

Here we are getting ready to walk back to surgery-notice the look on Cooper's face-he was a little "loopy" from the medicine that they had given him! He was too funny!
